it's been a while since I painted a concept for game so it was about time to make one...
I'll make a full 3D version of this one just like the dwarf character earlier, but this time I tried to flash out ideas much more before jumping in to modeling and texturing, so I painted this one in color from the start!
What I learned from the dwarf concept is that I need to plan stuff out more carefully, and think about how it will work in 3D during the painting of the concept, because later on it will take more time to experiment with stuff, or figuring out colors for example.. I often encounter the problem during my work that some stuff look cool in 2D but once we get to make it in 3D some of the elements turn out to be only possible in 2D
I heard a quote somewhere that "if you give me four days to cut out a tree, I'll spend the first three sharpening the axe..." cool quote and I tried to apply the theory here, more planning less headache
anyway it'll probably morhp, and evolve during modeling as it usually does, so the end result can be better!
